The Web of Values

WALT: recognise that our values can link us to others

As part of our term focus of equity and diversity, Room 9 decided to explore our values and how these link us to others. In groups we brainstormed together values most important to us before sharing back to the class. Values such as: family, hobbies, education, beliefs, goals were most popular, however our biggest realisation was that values don't actually have to be materialistic to have importance.

We then created signs with these values and went outside with a many pieces of cut string. Miss Fisher would then call out a value and those standing would take a piece of string each and tie them together. This was to represent us being linked through our values.

At the end of the lesson, through the chaotic web of string, we realised that although we're unique, we can be linked through our values.
